Quite a fun and cute game! Doubt it'll ever get updated but if the creator is seeing this than I will tell you that you have a very good idea for a game.
As a prototype the idea seems fleshed out and the cut-scenes between levels are cute. Even as a touchpad player who doesn't have a mouse(pain) the game played well, even if it was tedious to move the hand around. The only thing I could point out is to flesh out the hand's hit box as it feels like grabbing a needle in a haystack whenever wanting to grab the pets.
Over all a great prototype that I see a lot of potential in!
About to go sleep and my phone decides to jump scare me with a notification on... a Jam game I made over 3 years ago? Well that's something... xD. Jokes aside, thanks so much for trying the game and give feedback! It honestly made my day to see a comment on this after so long! :D
I had a blast making this back then so albeit a bit random after so long, I'm really happy you liked it! And yeah, the hand... it's just a raycast, but my brain, mushy as it was cause I only had 48 hours to finish the whole thing went "well, let's not spend too long trying to figure this out, might as well just put a dot in the centre of the hand and call it a day. That's good enough... right? RIGHT?" xDD
I've not done any other projects I can consider even half-baked since then cause... life happened, but I recently started trying to learn Godot so, you might have just made me want to re-visit this idea later down the line ^^.
Thanks again, and have a great day!!!
Wow, really cool idea. Great job with the primary gameplay loop + keeping it simple, then adding progression with the different levels. It is clear you managed your time well to be able to pull this off! I was suprised every time I progressed to another level and you kept adding more and more complexity! Well done!
I also really loved the art style + sound design. The noise when you pick up an ant feels super gratifying for some reason.
Thanks so much for your kind words! Attempted to make some simple yet fun and short yet not too short, hope I got the right balance there xD.
If managing your time means no-lifing the 56 hours and close to no sleep then yeah, I guess I did... lol.
Glad you liked the game! Attempted to make it look/feel like kind of an old silent movie, hopefully got that right ^^
LOL.....creative.
Could be VERY fun if you can figure out how to code the hand to pick up "Pets" when pet is under hand. having to put the DOT directly on it is mad annoying. Also, I tried to grab the lizard......that would have been a short game, but the Dad is apparently dumb too LOL!
I'm going to follow you, art was great, old time Saloon music was hilarious.
One actual bug tho. When I drop the menu ant in the Options dish....the menu "Tags" disappear. Also, that was a clever way to get people used to grabbing the ants. Please also include scaling on the Next update.....I think it will also run smoother as I have a 52" monitor.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I definitely will fix a couple of things once the voting period is over. I'll change the hand collision so it's easier to grab the ants, fix the menus, and initially I had an idea of why the grandpa wouldn't grab the lizard or anything, as he's scared of it, but didn't have the time to add the actual reaction before the deadline. Anyhow, thanks once again, and hope you check back after I make some improvements! =)
I absolutely will check back in brother me and my teammate are also making changes to our game things that we wanted to put in but didn't have time more animations more sound effects and will be pushing those changes up as soon as the judging is over
